Frequently Asked Questions

Client Question #1 What Is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese spiritual healing technique in which practitioners can help your body heal itself through touch. “Rei” translates to “universe” or “life force,” and “ki” translates to the physical energy of the body (also known as qi); put together, Reiki translates to “universal life force energy.”

Client Question #2 how is Reiki done?

During a Reiki session—which can last anywhere from half an hour to nearly two hours, depending on where you go—you sit on a massage table, fully clothed and covered with a sheet and/or blankets, and a practitioner lightly rests his or her hands on (or hovers them over) various parts of your body where energy is said to flow the most.

Client Question #3 What Does Reiki Feel Like?

People report sensations ranging from intense warmth to soothing coolness emanating from the hands of the healer. Some people even feel pulsing energy. Other folks fall into a meditative state and some just fall asleep. It’s different for everyone.

Reflexology

Hand & Foot Reflexology

By applying pressure to reflex areas, a reflexologist is said to remove energy blockages and promote health in the related body area.

Here are some examples of reflex areas and their corresponding body parts:

  • The tips of the toes reflect the head
  • The heart and chest are around the ball of the foot
  • The liver, pancreas, and kidney are in the arch of the foot
  • Low back and intestines are towards the heel
